Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Addis Ababa to start a tour to Ethiopia – fly Gondar
We will meet and greet you at Bole International airport. A Short introductory time at the airport; before the checking for your connection flight to Gondar.
On arrival in Gondar our company representative will meet you – then full days sightseeing.
Þ The rest of the day dedicated for sightseeing of Gonder; the 16th century Royal enclosure famous for its 17th C castles, which is known as the “African Camelot”, Fasil bath where Timkat (Epiphany) festival colorfully celebrated and one of the old churches Debre Birhan Selassie. hotel
Day 2: Tour to Simien Mountain National Park via Debark – Short hike to Sankaber
Early morning we drive along a good gravel road from Gondar to the park headquarters in Debark, the 100 km journey will take around three hours. At the headquarters we will arrange our permits to the park and pick up our scout. After that we will drive for another hour before we will start our first day introductory walk. This first hike is an easy one along the northern edge of the escarpment with a nice view points over the foothills and plains of northern Ethiopia. You will encounter gelada baboon along this hike. camp
Day 3: Trek to Jinbahir – then back to Sankaber- late afternoon drive to Gondar
We follow the northern escarpment eastward, before we descend a little into the Kaba Valley. After that we climb up before we reach Gich Abyss and continue over a narrow ridge to a cliff where we have a spectacular view of the abyss towards the Simien foothills. We also find a large waterfall here, where the Jinbahir River plunges 500 m into the abyss. Having finished enjoying and taking pictures around the fall, we will walk back to Sankaber through the other way round enjoying with the great wazla River valley landscapes and villages towards to south direction of the path where I born and grow up. Then we will drive back to Gondar, if you still need to have more walk we can stop in between and possible to do it. Then drive back to Gondar for overnight. hotel
Day 4: Morning Fly from Gondar for a tour to Lalibela – Full day Sightseeing of Lalibela.
Þ AM get transfer to Gondar airport for your scheduled flight to Lalibela. Our guide will meet you at Lalibela airport and get transferred to your hotel and preparation for sightseeing.
Þ Visit the Amazing rock churches of Lalibela rated as the eighth wonder of the world by many authors.
Þ This day you also will meet the Amhara people, see their way of traditional harvesting.
Evening you will attend traditional coffee ceremony with Ethiopian hospitality. hotel
Day 5: Fly back Lalibela to Addis Ababa – Half day Addis city tour – Evening Departure
Þ AM transferred to the airport for your first flight to Addis Ababa.
Þ Afternoon have a city tour in Addis Ababa (National Museum, Ethnological museum and Holy Trinity Church.
In the evening farewell dinner in one of Ethiopian traditional restaurant.Departure
