Itinerary
Day 1: Full day sightseeing in Addis Ababa
Þ morning about 10am for sightseeing of Addis Ababa that includes; the National Museum, famous for hosting the Humanoid fossil “LUCY”, Ethnographic Museums, Trinity cathedral and Mercato, the largest open air market in Africa and Entoto museum. Hotel
Day 2: Fly Addis Ababa to Bahirdar and then full day sightseeing
Þ Morning Fly to Bahir dar; pick up from Bahir dar airport and transfer to your hotel. Preparation for city excursion.
Þ Excursion to visit the Blue Nile Falls that takes you out of the city for a drive on a gravel road through the farmlands and small villages of the Amhara People.
Þ PM, you will have a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the Monasteries on the islands of Lake Tana. We visit the monastery churches of Ura Kidane Mihret that is the most famous monastery and has an important collection of religious icons from the 16th to 18th centuries. Ura Kidane Mihret is known for its paintings and small museum. Ura Kidane Mihret, are decorated from floor to ceiling with incredibly vivid images from Christian traditions. hotel
Day 3: Drive from Bahir Dar for a tour to Gondar – full days sightseeing (UNESCO registered World heritage site)
Þ AM after Breakfast you will drive over land to Gonder by minivan to Gonder, which is some 180kms.On arrival in Gondar check in to the hotel then preparation for city tour.
Þ PM is dedicated for sightseeing of Gonder; the 16th century Royal enclosure famous for its 17th C castles, which is known as the “African Camelot”, Fasil bath where Timkat (Epiphany) festival colorfully celebrated and one of the old churches Debre Birhan Selassie. Day 4: Drive to Simien Mountain National Park (UNESCO registered natural World heritage site) via the town of Debark – short walk inside the park
Þ After early breakfast, you will drive from Gondar to the town of Debark where the head quarter of Simien Mountain National Park found. Then process entrance permits to proceed to Sankaber, the first campsite of the National Park to see the extraordinary scenery. You will have a short walk around Sankaber enjoying the endemic Gelada Baboons and the bone breaker giant bird Lammergeyer. overnight in the highest lodge in Africa.
Day 5: Drive to ancient town of Axum alongside the Simien Mountains range with spectacular scenery.
Þ Short stops for leg starching and taking photographs with locals. Enjoy the traditional plowing and harvesting.
Þ Distance :282km to Axum and takes +- 7 hrs. hotel
Day 6: Full day tour in Axum sightseeing (UNESCO registered World heritage site)
Today you will have a full day sightseeing of:
Þ The archeological sites and the famous stele parks.
Þ St’ Mary of Tsion (Zion) Church the final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant.
Þ The ruin palace of the Queen of Sheba (9th Century BC). And mid afternoon excursion to Yeha Temple, the oldest surviving building in sub Saharan Africa from 5th century BC. hotel
Day 7: Fly Axum for a tour to Lalibela
Þ AM get transfer to Axum airport for your scheduled flight to Lalibela. Pick up from Lalibela airport and transfer to your hotel and preparation for sightseeing in the afternoon.
Þ Visit the Amazing rock churches of Lalibela rated as the eighth wonder of the world by many authors. hotel
Day 8: Fly back to Addis Ababa
Þ A.M transferred to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa and on arrival in Addis transferred to your hotel.
Þ The rest of the day at leisure/ free time for shopping
Moreover, in the evening around 06:00 PM you will be our guest for a farewell dinner in one of Ethiopian traditional restaurants with tasting Ethiopian foods and enjoying folkloric dance.
Evening transferred to the airport for your International departure flight.
