Day 1: Arrive in Addis Ababa meet and greet, get assisted for transfer to the hotel. Preparation for the city tour.
Þ City tour of Addis Ababa that includes; National Museum famous for housing the humanoid fossil Lucy, Holy Trinity cathedral, ethnographic Museum , St. George Cathedral Museum and Mercato, the largest and most vibrant market in Africa. Day 2: Excursion to Blue Nile gorge and Debre LibanosÞ The Blue Nile Gorge found at 210 km North of Addis Ababa, is one of the most spectacular gorges in the world; bigger, wider and dipper than the Grand Canyon of US America. Þ A right turn after 100 km drive will take us to the 13th Century Monastery of Debre-Libanos. One of the endemic mammals of our country, The Gelada Baboon is also found hear in the cliff. A few Kilometers from the monastery is the 16th century Portuguese Bridge also worth a visit. Continue to drive through the Selale or Shewan plain and farm lands till you reach the Gorge. After having picnic lunch then drive back to Addis Ababa.Hotel |
Day 3: Drive to Arba Minch via Hosaena ⇒ Enroute visit Tiya stelae field UNESCO world heritage site and ⇒ visit Adadi Mariam, the only southerly rock hewn church ⇒ meet the Gurage and Oromo people and their villages. Hotel |
Day 4: Full day sightseeing in Arba Minch ⇒Morning game drive to Nech Sar National Park visit the endemic animals inside the park. ⇒ Boat trip on Lake Chamo, birding and spotting hippos and crocodiles at the crocodile farm. hotel |
Day 5: Drive to Jinka and attend local market ⇒ Meet and visit Tsemay, Bana and Ari people and their villages’ ⇒ today is THURSDAY a market day at Key Afer, the most colorful market day in the Omo Valley region, Market attracts different tribes like, Tsemay, Bana, Ari, Basheda etc. hotel/resort |
Day 6: Excursion to Mago National Park for Mursi Tribes ⇒ today you will meet the Mursi Tribe, their women are famous for Lip plates and men for ritual fighting with stick and visit their villages. ⇒ Drive back to Jinka and continue to Turmi via Dimeka. ⇒ On the way meet and visit the Ari and Bana People. Day 7: Drive to Kangaten to visit the Nyangatom after crossing the Omo river with engine boat. On Return stop at Murulle for picnic lunch then proceed to Korcho to Visit the Karo tribes who live in the western bank of the Omo River. Afterwards drive back to Turmi. Hotel/lodge |
Day 8: Full day visit in Turmi ⇒ Excursion to Omorate for the Dasenech tribe, visit their villages ⇒ Boating on the Omo River ⇒meet the colorful Hamer tribe and visit their villages. ⇒ Attend the Tribal dance or Bull Jumping rite( occasional & optional). Hotel/lodge |
Day 9: Morning short drive to attend Turmi market (Monday) then drive to Konso and make a detour to Yabello, the home of the Borena Oromo tribes who are best known for Gada System, ⇒ Visiting on the way Erbore and Konso tribes. Some 25km before today’s destination you will visit Singing Well, age old technique of watering cattle by the Borena tribe. motel |
Day 10: Drive Yabello – Yirgalem
Þ From now on it’s a return drive to Addis Ababa with a night stop at the beautiful eco lodge, Aregash Lodge. Located in serene environment in the center of the Sidama village, the spot is the best place for cultural interactive light hiking through the villages and the farmlands. Hotel/lodge |
Day 11: Yirgalem – Awassa-Addis Ababa to complete the Omo valley tour

Day 12: Free shopping day and Departure
Þ Morning drive to Mount Entoto 9843 ft high and where the city was founded at first. The panoramic view from the peak is spectacular. Visit Entoto museum, Meneilik palace and old church.
